Ordering couldn't be easier, shipping couldn't be faster, and the value can't be beat.
We love these plates! And we really love that they’re made in the USA. They shipped quickly and arrived as predicted. The only minor imperfection we can see is 4 small raised areas on each plate, likely leftover from the manufacturing process. Those are only on one side of each plate and don’t affect the functionality, just take away a little bit from the visual appeal factor. Overall, we’re really happy with this equipment!
I am giving the plates 4 stars. I am not dissatisfied with the weights but wanted to call out a couple of issues I have noticed after the first month. All the weights are functional, and I understood I was purchasing an economy bumper plate. I ordered 465lb of bumper plates: 8 slim x 45lb, 4 x 10lb, 2 x 25lb, 2 x 5lb, 2 x 2.5lb. The finish on all the plates is far from perfect. The bevel on the edges (especially the 10lb) is very inconsistent. The plates look distinctly different because of this. The color fleck in each plate is also pretty variable. Some of the plates have a very rough unfinished look at the edge; others have areas that did not get beveled at all. See the attached photos. The slim 45s are very nice but still have some less-than-perfect finish. The bevel width again is a little variable, but it's much less noticeable than on the 10s. There is some visible cupping/warping on the 10lb plates and 2.5lb change plates. The 2.5lb change plates have a very slightly narrower collar than the other plates. This is not an issue on the Rogue barbell, but it's a minor inconvenience on a mace that also has a standard-diameter handle. The 5lb change plate fits no problem, but the 2.5lb do not. I have other smaller-increment change plates from another brand that also fit without issue. That, to me, confirms it's the 2.5lb plate collar issue. I have a photo of this as well with the 2.5lb sitting on top of the handle with a 5lb properly seated. Overall, the weights work as intended. I can drop them on heavy lifts, and they hold up well. So far, the durability has been great. I am very satisfied with the value but wanted to call out the minor visual imperfections for others spending a lot of time shopping for weights as I did.
Great plates, regular bumpers, ultra thins and change plates. Fantastic quality at a fantastic price.
Overall good weights. A few cosmetic issues though. The width of the 10s is inconsistent. The finish on the 5s is rough. Picking up the weights leaves your hands black from the rubber. The price is right though

These dumbbell bumper plates are amazing! They are top notch! Probably the best Crumb bumper style plates I’ve ever seen by any manufacturer, they feel great! Best part is they “make dumbbell heavy” but I can drop them outside without damaging something. I’ll buy more soon! Price is right for the quality, fit and finish for high end imports but, they’re made in USA it’s amazing for the price though!
Both plates appear to have not fully filled the mold, resulting in a rough, unfinished look.

Good product for the price. Shipping was relatively fast without box damage. The quality of finish could be better. Comparing with my other plates, I get why I pay this price. Very happy since it's only 2.5 and 5lbs, it doesn't bother me too much.

I’m moving to an apartment in a year and was looking for bumper plates to replace my iron. I came across Homegrown thru Instagram. Then I watch Gluck’s Gym review of bumper plates. Saw the the “baby bumpers” (2.5 and 5lb) and was hooked. I mostly used them for overhead Press (in basement) and dumbbell row. If I didn’t have the smaller width 45lb bumpers from another company I would not hesitate to buy them from Homegrown. I also like the fact it’s small American made company and the owners are fellow lifters.

Love the 2.5s and 5s and the new product 45’s that are about as thin as normal 25lb bumper plate. You can load way more on the barbell!

Do I need them? No. Do I want them? Yes. Note: I did receive one plate that had a manufacturing defect, but HGL customer service replaced it within one business day.
