Minor issues with shipping, very sturdy arms

Bottom line up front: HGL equipment is high quality and the price can’t be beat. It also feels good knowing I’m supporting a small American owned and operated business. For this reason I’m willing to overlook some minor issues that I wouldn’t accept from the big brands. Customer service cannot be beat, and I was helped by William every time I reached out. He was very kind, polite, and helpful. packaging/shipment: I ordered a lot of items in one big shipment. Everything was professionally packed on a pallet, no damage. Although the folding rack came without instructions just a diagram. The spotter arms didn’t make it on the original shipment, but HGL overnighted them to me. Again, great customer service. PROS: These spotter arms are heavy, powder coated, and have clean welds. Really nothing negative, but I always try my best to come up with some kind of con. CONS: Some of the screws had fallen out during shipment. I just screwed them back in. Very minor and, again, I’ll overlook this every time for the value per dollar of HGL. Considerations: Spotter arms on folding racks are an item of debate it seems. I am by no means a structural engineer, but by doing some research and consultation my personal installation (which will be different than yours probably) can withstand up to a 500lb dynamic load drop from 2.5 feet. I don’t plan on squatting that or benching that anytime soon, so I’m cool with it. Merely a consideration

Packaging could be a lot better

Items seem decently built and will work for what I need but the packaging is terrible. Boxes were almost completely destroyed and all items had damage. Spotting arm was bent to the point it would not fit in the rack. I managed to bend it straight so it will work. All the screws were loose on the plastic pads and most are stripped out so they won’t tighten. The dip bar plastic ends are both damaged. In the end I decided not to worry about it and make it work.
